Aerial Spraying
Spray smarter. Drift less. Get back to the field tomorrow.
FAA Part 137 certified fungicide application via DJI Agras T25. We apply fungicides only — no herbicides, no pesticides. Cm-level prescription delivery, zero soil compaction, zero wheel tracks.
How Drones Spray Crops
Precision ag drones replace the tractor pass and the crop duster flyover with a low, slow, GPS-guided application. Here's the four-step flow we run on every field.
- // 01
Scout & Map
We fly a quick scouting pass to map field boundaries, obstacles, and (when needed) NDVI hotspots. The map becomes your prescription.
- // 02
Mix & Calibrate
Fungicide is mixed on-site to label rate. Nozzles (XR / AIXR / TTI) are selected for the wind window and target droplet size to control drift.
- // 03
Autonomous Spray
The DJI Agras T25 flies the prescription 8–12 ft above the canopy. RTK GPS holds swath width within centimeters; radar keeps altitude over rolling ground.
- // 04
Report & Re-fly
Within 24 hours you get a digital application report showing applied rate per acre. Documented missed spots get re-flown free.
Drone Spraying Questions
How do drones spray crops?
+
A spray drone like the DJI Agras T25 flies a pre-planned grid 8–12 ft above the canopy. Onboard radar holds altitude to the crop, GPS RTK keeps the swath within centimeters, and pressurized nozzles release a calibrated rate per acre. The pilot sets the prescription on the ground, the drone flies it autonomously, and a digital map records every acre applied.
How much does drone crop spraying cost?
+
Pricing depends on acreage, crop type, and weather windows. Text or call us at 604 BC DRONE for a same-day quote. Buying a sprayer drone outright runs well into the tens of thousands plus chemicals, batteries, training, and certification — most growers find hiring an operator pays off until they cross several hundred acres of annual spray work.
Do farmers actually use drones to spray crops?
+
Yes — drone spraying went from novelty to mainstream over the past three seasons. Growers use them for fungicide rescue passes after rain, late-season applications when ground rigs would rut the field, and any acreage too wet, too steep, or too tall for a tractor or airplane.
Are precision ag drones better than a ground sprayer?
+
For the right job, yes. Drones eliminate wheel tracks and soil compaction, apply variable rates from a prescription map, fly when fields are too wet for ground equipment, and turn around in hours instead of days. Ground rigs still win on huge contiguous acreage in dry conditions; drones win on irregular fields, wet ground, tall canopies, and targeted zones.
How is drone spraying different from crop dusting?
+
Same job, smaller and smarter aircraft. A manned crop duster covers acres fast but flies higher, drifts further, and can't change rate mid-pass. Crop dusting drones fly low and slow, follow the terrain, apply variable rates from a prescription, and skip the airstrip — we take off from the field edge.
